About us

The Bellarine School of Art was founded in 2021 to provide art workshops for kids, adults and artists living with disabilities. We started with one humble week of school holiday workshops and ever since then we have been blown away by the enthusiasm from the local community and surrounding regions for our little art school by the sea.

The Bellarine School of Art is a creative project that aims to celebrate the joy and fun of making art. We offer art classes that will ignite your creativity. Expect plenty of guidance, artist-quality materials, a few laughs and many cups of tea. Workshops are facilitated in Queenscliff, Barwon Heads & Geelong.

Lara Davies

Founder

Hi my name is Lara Davies I like to draw, paint, take photos, design prints and teach art. I originally studied a B.A of Fine Art at RMIT university, studying in the Drawing Department of the Art School. For the past 16 years I have been teaching people drawing, textile design and screen printing as the founder of The Bellarine School of Art and previously as one half of Home-Work. Home-Work can be best described as a textile and print design label and school that was co-founded with my creative soulmate Jess Wright in 2013.

As one half of Home-Work I had the pleasure of curating and producing events all around the globe! As well as working closely with the Melbourne art and design community to create workshop programs, exhibitions and events at the Home-Work studio. In 2018 Home-Work published a book called Print Play  co written by Jess Wright and myself, published by Hardie Grant.

In 2019 Home-Work created and curated an event called Art Camp, an epic weekend of Art workshops, food and weekend away presented by Home-Work & frankie magazine.
